WHAT'S NEW AFTER 3 MONTHS

It's been a while...

I haven't written a blog post since November 25th, 2025. Today is February 18th, 2026. Almost 3 months.

I need to make writing a repeatable action. Writing needs to be in my system.

My system is the life I live — and I’m trying to optimize it.

I was new to dealing poker the last time I wrote and now I'm one of the best dealers in our poker room. I've gotten friendly with the regulars and have built up my reputation in the room.

There's been violent swings, both up and down, in the precious metals markets.

I've locked in on my diet the last two weeks and I'm working towards getting shredded. I'm 5'11 173 right now. I could lose a few percentage points of body fat for my abs to show. I've been making all my meals from home and tracking my calories and protein closely.

Focusing on your diet forces your mind to be conscious in everyday moments you otherwise wouldn't be conscious in. I love the restriction that I've placed on myself. It's a test of discipline and the reward is a lower body fat percentage. I've started burning 300 calories on the treadmill every day, training abs more, while continuing to lift weights. I will be sticking to this 2,100-2,300 calorie range until I obtain a six pack and am comfortable with my leanness. From there, I will maintain throughout the summer and most likely do a bulk in the winter months.

I feel and look great.

You look good, you feel good, you do good.

I look forward to hopping back on the blogging train. I've missed the creative process of writing. It's a different arena my mind wanders into. It's worth exploring. I only want to engage in long-term pursuits and thinking and writing certainly are long-term behaviors that will compound onto itself and myself.

Right now, I'm reading Zero to One by Peter Thiel. He mentions the power law which is basically stating that a small key decision matters a lot more than dozens of minor ones. There are key decisions like what industry to go in, what career to go into, or who to marry, that has significant influence on outcomes. These are leverage points. What one, two, three habits can I implement that will 10x or 100x my output? He brings up compound interest when ex[anding on his point.

And undoubtedly what I took away from it was the importance of the work that I do on my output I receive from my life. While I enjoy dealing poker and I'm good at it, it doesn't offer leveraged upside. There are certainly still opportunities that can come from it, but it lacks scale. That doesn't mean I'm going to quit tomorrow, but it's an important idea to consider when strategizing long-term. And I think this is where great thinkers, strategists, businessmen, and kings are valuable. It's where their power comes form... this ability to strategize and execute long-term due to careful consideration of a multitude of factors and knowing that this is worth the ponderance.

I've written in a previous post about the most valuable resource in the world being energy. Our energy is finite, but our outcomes are not. Our energy is an input that produces our outcomes. What we need to do is allocate as much energy as possible to the highest leverage, most important activities possible, that really move the needle.

Look... While things have certainly changed in the last 3 months, not a lot has at the same time.

It's still a pursuit of excellence, getting better, and evolving. My relationships have gotten better as I have gotten better, and when you better yourself, all facets improve. Self-progression is, at least starting out, the best path to go down. It's still the first quarter; We have a long way to go.
